Athletic Probation (No Pass No Play) Students participating in DPL activities (defined as any and all organized activities/competitions sponsored by the Dallas Parochial League) are required to maintain a grade no less than 70 in each subject area and to achieve no less than a satisfactory rating in areas concerning conduct, effort, or self-discipline (hereafter, the minimum standards). Student reports will be reviewed and a two-week probationary period will begin upon the distribution of quarterly progress reports and report cards. If the student does not meet the minimum standards they will be placed on a two-week athletic probation. During those two weeks, students are prohibited from participating in practices and/or games. Once the probationary period expires, the affected students will be assessed again. If the student has shown progress and successfully raised his/her grade and/or conduct above minimum standard, they will be permitted to return to their team. If, after being assessed, a student still maintains grades below 70 or unsatisfactory conduct grade, they will be placed on an additional two week probationary period. Assessments will continue every two weeks until the student’s grades and/or conduct are brought up to standard or the season ends.
During the Athletic Probation period, it will be the responsibility of the Athletic Director to communicate with affected students and their coaches. It will be the responsibility of the Principal to communicate with the student’s parents.
