IMPORTANT SURVEY: Every year, the Diocese of Dallas requires that every school in the Diocese conduct a Family Income Survey. This survey helps schools determine if they are eligible for federally funded programs, such E-Rate, Entitlements I-V, etc. We need 100% participation from our families. Please take a few minutes and fill out the survey that is in your child's Friday Folder and return it as quickly as possible. We thank you for your cooperation and prompt attention.

ROOM PARENTS: Thank you to all the parents who signed up to be a Room Parent or an Auction Parent at the Back to School Picnic! We are still in need of a few more hands. The Room Parents (two for each class) plan the class parties for the year. The Auction Parents (two for each class) work with the class to create a personalized class item for the Disco Fever Auction in February. They also assemble a class basket for the Auction. We will be having a brief Room/Auction Parent meeting before the 1st PTO meeting held September 22 to go over all information. FRIDAYS IN THE FORUM: Beginning on September 3rd, come join us in the Forum every Friday morning from 7:45 am until 8:15 am for a cup of coffee. This is a great way to meet some new parents and to catch up with some old friends. Mr. Riley will join parents, as well!

MEDICAL INFORMATION IN RENWEB: It is very important that we have your correct medical and emergency contact information in ParentsWeb. You should list yourself as the first emergency contact and have accurate cell phone numbers listed. It is also important to check "permission to treat" box in case of emergency requiring ambulance care and transport. There is an area to list all allergies your child(ren) may have. It is also helpful to notify Nurse Fritz if the allergies are severe.

ONLINE SPIRIT STORE IS NOW OPEN: We have a whole new line of spirit wear and items available for purchase. You can purchase these items online and receive them in your child's backpack. Click here to shop online. You can also shop at our spirit kiosk that will be set up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:45am until 8:15am and from 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm in the hallway outside the Columbarium. We are looking for volunteers to help at these times. Please respond to this email if you are interested in helping.

OUR LADY: Our very own Pilgrim Madonna and Child statue has her new calendar out in the school office and is ready to travel to your home for a week! Think about a special time this semester during which you would like your children to invite Our Lady to bless your home! They see her at school and in our events during the year! Let them bring her home for a week! Is there a special family date this year that would make it nice to have her with your family? The kids can welcome her with a Rosary with you, pictures, cards, flowers or in a special way unique to your family! Let them create her welcoming! You may access her calendar for this semester in the school office, or by contacting eikuhlmann@sbcglobal.net. Our Lady is ready! Won't you invite her home?

OLDEST OR ONLY: We follow the "Oldest or Only" procedure to help conserve paper when sending items home from the school office. If your family has multiple students, then the oldest child will be the one to receive all Friday Folder contents coming from the office. If your family has only one student, then that student will receive all Friday Folder contents coming from the office. Think Green! Remember...all Friday Folders need to be returned to your child's teacher on Monday morning. Use the attached envelope inside the Friday Folder to send any correspondence, payments, etc.

LUNCH/EDP BILLS: Lunch and EDP bills for August will be combined with the September billing sent out the first week of October. You will receive an invoice via email and you may pay online or send in cash or check to the School Office.

BAND SIGN-UP: Parents of interested 4th-8th graders are invited to attend an informational meeting and sign-up on Tuesday, August 31st at 7:00pm in the Dining Hall. Band classes will be conducted on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30-5:00pm. Find out more information at the meeting!

MARATHON KIDS: Kindergarten through 5th grades are participating in the Marathon Kids Program in their P.E. classes. Please fill out the Student Registration Form in today's Friday Folder and return to your child's classroom teachers by Friday, September 17th. Be sure to circle your child's t-shirt size!

CHESS ANYONE? Does your child love to play chess or is interested in learning how to play? We are starting a chess club here at St. Joseph that will meet Friday after school. It is open to students at all levels of experience. Click here for more information.
