The school uniform helps to identify the student as a member of the St. Joseph Catholic School community – a student who is cooperatively participating in and representative of the school community. The school uniform code is intended to ensure that neatness and the St. Joseph Catholic School identity are evident at all times. For this to create the desired results, the code must be specific. Within this specificity there is some diversity, but the limits of diversity are clearly defined. All families must purchase uniforms from the company serving our school, Parker Uniforms. Spirit Day
Spirit Days are typically the second Thursday and the last Friday of a school month. Spirit Days are published in the school calendar. On Spirit Days, all students may wear any St. Joseph uniform shirt, St. Joseph t-shirt or St. Joseph sweatshirt that is school-approved (i.e. school t-shirt, sweatshirt, etc.) with blue jeans, dress pants, or uniform pants. Students may also wear appropriate length blue jean shorts in warmer weather. Any unform shoe may be worn or any tennis shoe (no boots, sandals, etc). Students may wear their school uniform instead of Spirit Day attire. Jewelry acceptable with the school uniform may also be worn on Spirit Day.
Picture Day
Individual and class pictures are taken on a designated date during the first few months of school. On this day students must wear uniforms. When individual pictures are taken in the spring, the students may wear dress-up or church attire, or their school uniform. No jeans or shorts (other than uniform shorts) are permitted on the spring picture day. Boys must wear a shirt with a collar. Jewelry acceptable with the school uniform may also be worn on spring picture day.
Other School Functions
All students are required to dress with Christian modesty in mind at all school functions. The school has the discretion to discipline any student that does not abide by this dress code.
