All visitors and volunteers must report to the school office (without exception). Visitors/volunteers must sign in and receive a Visitor/Volunteer badge. At the conclusion of the visitor/volunteer duty, the visitor/volunteer must sign out. Smoking and concealed weapons are not permitted in the facilities regardless of legality elsewhere.
Parents and visitors of St. Joseph Catholic School are encouraged to visit the school at any time during the year. Requests to visit the school should be made within two working days and should be directed to the principal’s office. To facilitate such visits and to eliminate the possibility of unknowingly disrupting the educational program, visitors are directed to report first to the principal’s office.
If visits with teachers and students are desired, they shall be scheduled through the principal at an appropriate time that will not take a teacher or student away from class. While visits to the school are encouraged, the principal shall ensure that visits do not disrupt or interfere with the educational process in the classroom.
Parents bringing lunches, books, etc. or picking up students are asked to come to the office. Parents should not go directly to the classrooms. Students must be signed out in the office for doctor/dental appointments, etc.
Volunteers, parents and students are requested not to interrupt the cleaning staff from their work to unlock doors. All such requests should be made through the school office.
St. Joseph Catholic School welcomes volunteers from our parish community. Those wishing to donate time and energy are encouraged to contact the St. Joseph Catholic School office (or the St. Joseph Catholic School PTO Volunteer Coordinator).
All persons working an hour or more a week with St. Joseph Catholic School students must undergo a security clearance.
All persons working with possible blood borne pathogens must attend a workshop given on our campus by the school nurse. These procedures will help to ensure the safety of both students and volunteers.
