A letter from the President…
Parents and Teachers,
Now that school has been in session for about a
month and we have hopefully all settled in to our
new routines, I wanted to take this opportunity to
formally welcome you to the St. Joseph Catholic School Parent Teacher Organization.
The SJCS PTO is a concerned group of parents and faculty who encourage and facilitate family involvement and coordinate volunteer efforts to help support a multitude of school programs. We serve as a catalyst for bringing families together and furnishing support for the various needs of our school. Essentially, we strive to help create a strong sense of community within our school, and accountability for its continued success.
Although many people think of a PTO as simply a money making machine, where members are constantly pressured to buy this and sell that to raise funds for the school, our philosophy is that fundraising isn’t the only thing we do, it’s necessary because of what it helps us do! The results of our fundraising efforts help provide exciting and enriching experiences for students, parents, and families throughout the year.
As parents and staff of SJCS we are automatically members of the PTO, but I encourage you to become active members of our group. Your involvement can make a dramatic difference in the success of our programs and has a direct impact on the future of our school. Please consider investing your time and/or talents in some of the many programs and events sponsored or supported by the PTO.
