Gymnastic Success for 4th Grade Student

Congratulations to 4th grader Claudia Schroeder! Claudia tied for first place on floor exercise and the balance beam at the TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) State Gymnastics Meet in Whitney, Texas, over the weekend. Way to go, Claudia! We are so proud of you!

7th Grader Excels at State Gymnastics Meet

Congratulations to 7th grader, Gwen Hoover, on her recent performance in the Xcel state gymnastics meet. Gwen took home a 4th place finish on Bars and came in 5th on Beam. In each event she was less than two-tenths of a point away from first place! Congratulations, Gwen!

Eighth Graders Walk for JDRF

Twelve SJCS 8th graders participated in the 2014 JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) One Walk to raise awareness and research funds to turn Type One diabetes into Type NONE! Several of our students were featured in the Dallas Morning News the next day. Great job, Jaguars!

St. Joseph Jaguar Sofia Bartkowski, Dance Champion

Sofia competed at the Sapphire Ball Dancesport Championship in Austin, Texas on May 29th-June 1st. Sofia and her partner, Sayat Toleukadyr, came home with a victory winning 16 - 1st Places, dancing Waltz, Quickstep, Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. They also earned the 1st place medal for dancing Solo Bronze Jive routine! We are proud of this dancing duo!

JD Diaz - Junior Zookeeper

Congratulations to JD, 5th Grade, who earned a summer internship at the Dallas Zoo to be a Junior Zookeeper! JD will be working in the Children's Zoo area this summer helping to take care of the animals and helping to teach zoo visitors about the different kinds of farm animals. Way to go, JD!

Elena-TFMC All State 2014

Elena, 3rd Grade, competed in the Texas Federation of Music Clubs State Competition this past weekend in San Marcos and was awarded her fourth consecutive All-State Musician Award and plaque for her age group for Vocal Art Song. Elena sang Irving Berlin's "God Bless America". Congratulations, Elena!

Rachel Rodriguez - DPL MVP

Rachel was award the Dallas Parochial League Outstanding Athlete of the Meet and Outstanding Athlete of the Season. This is the first time that a St. Joseph Student has been named MVP in track. Her credits include:
1st in high jump at 4'3"
2nd in long jump 12'11.5"
1st in 100 hurdles
1st in 300 hurdles
1st in 200 sprint
