Service in the Middle School
The purpose of service requirements at St. Joseph is to encourage our children to reach out to those with whom they may not ordinarily come into contact. There are various organizations that are constantly in need of assistance. In addition, assorted opportunities are provided throughout the year. These opportunities are communicated to the students through religion class and to the parents through e-mail.

At the end of each school year, the students in the sixth and seventh grades receive a service hour log to record any hours completed over the summer.
In addition, the fifth-grade students receive an explanation of the service hour requirement and are also given a service hour log at that time. They are encouraged them to begin earning hours over the summer.
At Back to School night, parents receive information on the service hour requirements. During the year, when the school is informed of activities, notification of service opportunities are communicated to the students as well as the parents through RenWeb.
